I am a magpie when it comes to the beach – I’ll pick up any old thing and my kids now do the same. We come home with pockets full of pebbles, shells and pretty looking garbage.
In an effort to organise the ‘treasure’ before it takes over our flat, I have started curating our little collections into memory jars.
Something that never ceases to amaze me as a parent is a boy’s ability to destroy a pair of jeans. There are a few things you can do; patch them up, buy new trousers or just go with it.
I’ve decided to just go with it and turn them into monsters.
** NEW VIDEO** Frida had her 4th birthday party the other day. She’s currently obsessed with Katy Perry’s Roar video so decking out the whole house like a jungle seemed to be logical thing to do. We made some jungle bunting out of paper, wool and string and I decorated the whole party for around £10.
I’m not about to pretend this is a hack, everyone knows this, it’s more of a reminder. A little forward planning to help you out the next time you’re going to use a roll of tape. Don’t drive yourself potty trying to find the end of the roll, just fold over the end, because you know the next time you need it you’ll be flapping around wrapping whats-his-name’s birthday present on your way out the door to his party, at a soft play centre somewhere you’ve never heard of – and you’re already 15 minutes late.
In an uncharacteristic moment of foresight, I shot this cocktail months ago and now I’m staring at it longingly, wishing it to return. This gin cocktail is a simple take on a Bees Knees. It’s sharp, sweet and contains honey, lemon, ginger and gin.
