Mother’s day is coming up! Last year, after my obligatory lie-in, my husband asked me what I’d like to do for the rest of day. My answer was quick and simple. I didn’t want to be taken to brunch, I didn’t want to go on a shopping spree, I said, “I want to lie in bed looking at my phone while you sort out the laundry”. I’m so fancy – and exhausted.It’s hard to fully grasp the relentless task of keeping other humans alive until you have some of your own. Only when you’ve got cracked nipples and you’re sneezing with uncertainty while wiping arses every day, do you really ‘get’ what our own mums went through …and they did it all without Google. Respect.
I’ve haven’t really thanked my mum for all the shit I put her through, so I thought I’d make these cards for all the things I never knew I had to apologise for.
