05 Jan HACKY MONDAYS – CLEAN A CHOPPING BOARD NATURALLY
Clean and disinfect a wooden chopping board the natural way.
Cut a lemon in half and rub it all over the board, then cover the board in salt. Use Malden salt (in the UK) or Kosher salt (in the US) as these salts have no additives like iodine, (which is used in most table salt to stop it caking in damp weather).
After the salt has sat for 10-15 minutes, scrub the board with the other half of the lemon, squeezing as you go to add more juice.
Rinse it off with water (no soap), then wipe vegetable oil on with paper towel to add oil back into the wood. This will stop it from cracking.
