HACKY MONDAYS – DON'T LOSE YOUR KID

HACKY MONDAYS – DON’T LOSE YOUR KID

A little while ago I found myself on Regent Street with two kids in a tide of tourists and my inner parental panic alarm went off  “Don’t lose them!”. Cut to an Empire of the Sun style Pearl Harbour sequence inside my mind as we approach Hamley’s – wow, that escalated fast.

I talk to my kids often about what to do if they are lost but let’s be honest my two-year-old won’t remember what to do until I can work it into the narrative of a Peppa Pig episode, so she stays in the buggy, and I think my four-year-old understands but I know he doesn’t know my mobile number.

So thinking on my feet I put one of my business cards in his pocket and told him that if we get separated, he should ask another mum to call me.

You could also write your name and number on their arm, but you’d need to have a permanent marker handy to be sure it doesn’t come off.
