HAPPY HOUR – THE CAIPIRINHA

My grandparents lived in Brazil for close to 15 years. After a long post abroad, they came back with a second nationality and a love for Brazilian food and drinks. A caipirinha reminds me of joyful family dinners and is still a favourite cocktail of mine.

This is how I remember my grandmother mixing it in her kitchen.

image1/2 a lime
1 tbsp of sugar
1 shot of cachaça (Pitù was the band of choice in this household)
Crushed ice

Crush your lime and sugar, add the ice and cachaça. Stir.

Enjoy!
