06 Feb HAPPY HOUR – THE FIRST LADY
…and so Ladyland is ONE!
Here’s to our first birthday! We call this cocktail The First Lady and it was our signature tipple at our party last week. This recipe makes a whole bottle to be enjoyed with the awesome ladies in your life.
- 375ml rosé wine
- 50ml vanilla Liqueur (the guys at 7 recommended “Licor 43“)
- 75ml sugar syrup
- Freshly squeezed juice of half an orange
- Freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon
- Soda water
- A maraschino cherry to garnish each glass and add a little sweetness (n.b. if you don’t add the cherry, your cocktail will be called “Bed of Roses”)
Mix all the ingredients (bar the soda water and cherries) in a bottle, then top it up with soda water and seal it. When you are about to serve it, add a maraschino cherry to each glass. Makes 5 cocktails.
A little tip from the experts: The guys at 7 actually soda-charge the mix first before adding the soda water, as apparently you get a lot more bubbles, but if you don’t have the gizmo, just add another splash of soda water to each glass before serving.
