We’ve set the decorations, we’re sliding into our spanx and Clem’s made the cake of her dreams which means it must be time for our party!

This is the playlist we’ll be boogying to tonight compiled by the lovely Kirsty Brown, musical deejay extraordinaire so you  can party on with us. Here’s what she has to say…

There’s nothing I love more than the opportunity to program a party playlist! I like imagining people’s faces when their favourite party-jam comes on, and I often find myself becoming a Nick Hornby character in the making of it- worrying about tempo, flow, the right mix of quirkiness and accessibility. Perhaps I should have become a DJ, but the few times I actually attempted that, I ended up making my actually-talented DJ friends mix the music while I just yelled out track selections and danced behind them. I am the Flava Flav, your hype-babe, the first one on the dancefloor and the one you can count on to heckle the DJ when they spin something unforgivably cheesy (Black-Eyed Peas, I am looking at you.)

This playlist is a celebration of the modern lady. She can be punk, pop, rock, electro – anything in between. She is fearless. She does not care about the male gaze, yet she is a provocateur. She is witty. She is funny. She will get you on the dancefloor, and she will keep you there. Enjoy.

Pour one out for me!

Kirsty x

See you on the other side! (With a hangover!)

Kirsty Brown has called the music industry home for over ten years, yet has not even mastered Chopsticks on the piano in the meantime. Instead, she dedicates her time to making the industry a fair and equitable place for musicians, from lobbying governments for funding to running conferences and taking live music to young people in rural Australia. In her spare time, she likes to pretend she is the Antipodean Mary Berry, normally while a B-grade movie starring J Lo plays in the background.
