20 Jun SWEDISH MIDSUMMER: MAKE AN AWESOME FLOWER CROWN
I’m a bit of a hippy at heart – if I lived in my own little world I’d be perpetually bouncing about barefoot with pre-Raphaelite hair and a garland of flowers on my head like some sort of Mucha woman.
Unfortunately, due to things like reality and common sense, this is only possible to do on a few days in summer, somewhere in the countryside where my husband won’t be embarrassed by me. But when those days come along, I will be prepared because I’ve figured out a super easy way to make a flowery garland. It may also be useful for flower girls, bridesmaids and music festivals.
Once you’re done with it you can leave it lying flat for a week to dry out then hang it up on a wall to stare at, waiting for your day in the sun.
- Baby’s breath: I got a bunch from Sainsbury’s for £4 that would make three garlands. You could also add other flowers like poppies or roses before you add the ribbon.
- Washi tape or masking tape
- Ribbon: about 1.5 meters – thick ribbon is best to hide the tape
- Scissors
